General Information
This KB is for how to install a basic printer into settings in Windows 11.
Wifi Method
If you are connecting the printer the standard way via Wifi easiest way is to go to Windows → Settings → Printers & Scanners → Add. Make sure the printer is connected to the same network as the computer and if it is it will populate. Click “Add Device” and the printer will automatically install.

Other Methods
If you are trying to install the printer another way or it is not showing up click “The printer I want isn’t listed” To install the printer via network manually click “Add printer via IP Address or hostname” and enter the IP address. You will be prompted to install the driver automatically.
- To install printer directly via USB cable, again go to Printers and Scanners -> Add Device-> “The printer I want isn’t listed” -> and connect the printer to the computer via USB. It should automatically see it and begin install of the printer and drivers.
- If your printer does not automatically install required driver, locate the file for the newest driver from the manufacturers website. Once downloaded go to either Printers & Scanners in settings or control panel -> Large Icons -> Devices and Printers.
- Find printer and go to printer properties →Advanced -> New Driver -> Have Disk. Locate recently downloaded driver and manually install to printer.
